The Country Club of Little Rock golf course opened in 1902. The course was designed by Herman Hackbarth. The course was redesigned by Tom Clark and Edmund B. Ault in 1980.

This course has fast greens and its fairways are tight and tree lined. Hole #8, a long, narrow par 4, is the most challenging hole. You must be a guest of a member to play this course.
Some things remain beyond the reach of new arrivals, like the restricted Country Club of Little Rock, whose members are waggishly described as F.F.L.R.'s, First Families of Little Rock.

President Bill Clinton used to play golf at The Country Club of Little Rock, before he was president. It was brought to the media's attention that the Country Club didn't have any African-American members at the time. Clinton left the Club soon after that scandal erupted.

Little Rock Country Club is a very private course. It is also very old, but has undergone frequent renovation. It is very well conditioned and maintained. Like many area courses, its bent grass greens can become stressed in the hot, humid Summer months, but in the Srping and Fall, they're hard to beat.
